It Doesn't Need to be Complicated!
Why have we started to over complicate everything? Menopause, and some of our symptoms do not need to be complicated.
Today I want to chat to you about the benefits of Epsom Salt Baths and Magnesium for Menopause.
Now, magnesium can be found in our food from sources like brown rice, green leafy veg, legumes, nuts, seeds and whole grains. However, sometimes, nothing beats a nice warm relaxing bath.
Magnesium is an essential mineral that plays a crucial role in hundreds of our biochemical processes within the body. For us menopausal ladies, its benefits are particularly significant, as it helps manage some of our more common symptoms.
I sometimes take extra magnesium, especially at times of high stress. I have also used topical magnesium in the past which is great for joint pain relief, and if you put it on the soles of your feet at night time, it helps calm the central nervous system and aids with sleep.
Did you know that Magnesium can also:
Help with mood swings and anxiety
Improve sleep quality
Reduce muscle cramps and aches
Support bone health
Boost energy levels
Help to calm our central nervous system
Epsom salt, scientifically known as magnesium sulfate, is a great way to absorb magnesium through the skin. Taking an Epsom salt bath offers so many benefits, including:
Relaxation and Stress Relief: An Epsom salt bath provides a calming and relaxing experience. The magnesium in the salts is absorbed through the skin, helping to relax your muscles and calm your mind, making it a great remedy for stress relief.
Eases Muscle Pain: Muscle and joint pains are all too common during menopause. Epsom salts have anti-inflammatory properties, making them effective in soothing sore muscles and easing discomfort.
Detoxifies the Body: Epsom salt baths can help flush out toxins through the skin. This gentle detox process can alleviate bloating, another common symptom during menopause.
Improves Sleep: Soaking in a warm Epsom salt bath before bed allows magnesium to enter your system, calming your body and helping you drift into a more restful sleep. Just don't do it right before bedtime as the heat from the bath can raise our body temperature. Maybe an hour or two before bed is best.
Menopause can be a challenging time, but natural remedies like Epsom salt baths and magnesium can make a huge difference in helping to manage our symptoms. From improving sleep to relieving muscle aches and calming anxiety, these simple, soothing baths can be a game-changer in your wellness routine. We all want to better navigate menopause with grace, comfort, and relaxation. We don't always need all the chemicals and drugs, we just need to take it back to basics.
I remember as a kid, my mum's answer to everything was a nice hot bath!
Your body deserves care, especially during this transition, so why not treat it to some of the more natural remedies?
